Hypnos & Thanatos

Another new piece for the show in Towson this month. More Greek mythology. The brothers Hypnos and Thanatos were the personifications of Sleep and Death.

Now is probably a good time to remind you that most of the pieces I post, and most of the work on my site, are available as prints. The “shop” section of my site lists only specific pieces as prints since I thought it might be less confusing, but pretty much everything else is available too if you want it.
9″ x 12″ glossy or matte print- $10
11″ x 17″ glossy print- $30
Please contact me for shipping prices and payment instructions, or read them at http://www.joannabarnum.com/shop.shtml if interested. I can also ship non-priority if you want to save money on the shipping.

      • Well, thanatos comes up pretty quickly in the frequency lists for Greek words in the New Testament.
Thanatos became our swear word when we screwed something up. It never failed to crack us up because, you’ll admit, yelling ‘death’ is funnier than cursing. 🙂
It also took the tension out of a tough class for a lot of people.
