“Maculate Heart of the Artist”

(Cut for nudity)

Self portrait reflecting recent fascination with Catholic and traditional tattoo imagery. Kind of self indulgent, but I haven’t done much painting for myself recently.

The peacock feather is supposed to be a quill pen, but I’m not sure if it reads as such?

Acrylic over watercolor on Arches paper.

  1. It’s funny – this came up in a google search I was doing to ponder tattoo references, but without the word “tattoo” there at all.
It gave me quite the kick to the head, because it is a gorgeous piece, and I’m a bit stunned, and thank you very much for having made it.
