“…looking back we can detail this as the time when a great boar swallowed the sun and took it to ground, stripping hope from the skies.”

A quotation from the excellent writer cbpotts.

  1. Wow. This is amazing and I love it to pieces. Especially the boar’s red eyes; the energy and the way the boar’s feet are planted in the ground, the dimensionality of the sun. You amaze me always.

  2. Oooh, I agree with CB and the others — wonderful!
I’d love to be added to your friends list. Please come see my silly little LJ — maybe there’ll be a photo there that will inspire you to a painting!

    • Higgins ink and tempera cakes (although I paint with them as I’d use watercolor). I tend to go for the tempera cakes when I want saturated color and want to splash a lot of paint around haphazardly.

      • This is awesome. If a great boar could swallow the sun, this is how he would look doing it.
BTW, a 3-dimensional version of this would be a perfect addition to an urban art project in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada (large town or small city where I live – pop. approx 200,000)- pigs in various media in outdoor spaces. A friend of mine made a hilarious “Boar of the Rings.” Just outside a restaurant named Viet-Thai is a piggy covered with some kind of Asian writing.
