For Ten Paces And Draw’s “March Mixtape” feature, I illustrated Queen’s song “Killer Queen.” Follow the link to see what other folks came up with.

The theme for this week’s Ten Paces & Draw challenge was “villains.”
For my swap, I created a final illustration based on a sketch of Hans Gruber from “Die Hard,” drawn by Marloes de Vries.
You can check out Marloes’s sketch over at the Ten Paces blog.
My rough sketch for the swap was of Eve and the Serpent, and Marloes created a final based on it.
Cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov…this was one of my $20 “quick portraits.” Portrait commissions don’t have to be of someone you know personally. I can sketch your favorite celebrity or historical figure.
I had a chance to participate in another Ten Paces & Draw blog prompt. This week’s theme was “ugly.”
This was my sketch:
Check out the final Wylie Beckert created based on my sketch, over on the Ten Paces blog. I really like it!
And this is the final I did based on Wylie’s sketch:
Drawn for a lady who collects kiwi stuff.
Here are the sketches I did in preparation. She wound up choosing just one kiwi for the final piece, but I might finish the drawing of the five species sometime.
Preliminary drawing for a watercolor.
I painted this one for my friend Jeff and his wife Juliana as my wedding gift to them.

This is the detailed/final drawing for an illustrative portrait commission. It’s on the final watercolor paper and the painting goes on top of it.
I’m really enjoying this one. The young lady in the painting and I both like the same sorts of plants and critters.
Here’s one of my quick $20 drawings. Normally they’re portraits of people, but this one is a house. I think it might be a first for me in this particular style.
